Bookbinding Workshop

XPACE Cultural Center Presents: A Bookbinding Workshop


On Friday, March 4th from 6-8pm Jennie Suddick will be demonstrating varied techniques in bookbinding, such as the 4-Hole Punch and as well the Coptic Binding, which are perfect to use for sketchbooks or journals!  We will provide paper, thread, needles and scissors needed but feel free to bring any of your own materials (ie. fancy paper) with you as well.  A pen and paper, are great to have in hand if you'd like to take notes for future bookbinding as well.

Jennie Suddick is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Toronto, Canada. Her work has been exhibited in Canada, The United States, Germany and Italy. She holds both a BFA and Advanced Visual Studies Certificate from OCAD University,  where she was the recipient of multiple awards. She as well, holds a Masters of Fine Art from York University.  Jennie creates work in print, photography and sculpture, while dealing with issues of Canadian identity, cryptozoology, museological display, and hyper reality. Recently, she has shown at Board of Directors, Blackwood Gallery’s ‘Drop Out’ 2009 Nuit Blanche exhibition, The Gladstone Hotel’s upArt and participated in Hallwalls' Artists and Models: Stimulus in Buffalo, New York. She received the Award of Excellence at the 2009 Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition. Jennie also oversees the programming of XPACE Cultural Center.
